Before we bought our current house our DIY experience was limited to cosmetic fixes, additions to our previous new construction home, and experience working alongside our dads.

Reference Books for DIY |
But after buying an older home, our DIY skill set has expanded to all sorts of things like:
Below is list of home improvement reference books that we have purchased along the way to fill in our DIY knowledge gaps.- familiarizing ourselves with current code standards, both local and general
- acquainting ourselves with our town's permit policies and procedures*
- learning how to INSTALL HARDWOOD FLOORS
- increasing our TILING EXPERIENCE
- learning the CRAFT OF WOOD TRIM
- improving our DRYWALL SKILLS
- expanding our KNOWLEDGE OF HOUSEHOLD PLUMBING
*This is super important. You don't want to be permit bandit, for lots of reasons including but not limited to: you don't want to de-value your home, performing unlicensed improvements, or causing potential harm or injury to yourself or others.
What are your favorite diy references?
Happy DIYing,
