I'm pretty lucky. . .my kids like broccoli! But I know lots of kids, and, ahem, some adults don't.
This raw broccoli salad could not be easier to make.
It's the perfect make ahead side dish.

INGREDIENTS
- 1 1/2 to 2 lbs broccoli, trimmed
- 10 strips cooked bacon, chopped
- 1/2 red onion, chopped
- 1 cup sunflower seeds
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
- Combine the mayonnaise, the sugar and the vinegar.
- Toss with the broccoli, the bacon, the onion, and the seeds.
- Can be served right away, but better if chilled at least an hour.
Cook's Tip:
Want to save yourself the trouble of wiping bacon grease off your cook top? Cook it in the oven! Set your bacon strips on a wire rack placed over a baking sheet. Bake in 350 degree oven for about 10 minutes, depending on desired crispiness.
It's a {little} healthier too! All the excess fat will drop through the wire rack onto the baking sheet.
